Charity drive veers wayside
This is disappointing. Despite chalking up more than 10,478 readership hits for this blog since the “Buy a soccer ball for Orang Asli kids” post in Sept 2008, the response was way below par. OK, to be frank, we kinda expected it. The majority is too consumed with urban life or perhaps their own personal woes - and we are too doped up on idealistic hope. It’s worth a shot though.
But we did not want to disappoint the kids in Sahom village. Looking to raise their spirit, we dig in our fund and bought them a proper Adidas ball ourselves instead. On the same trip last week, we also took the opportunity to hand out donations of children clothing to needy families.
It was raining and we left in a hurry. It would be nice to play ball again with these kids someday.

THIS SITE gives viewers a glimpse of the beautiful but unsung parts of Malaysia. As a social aid movement, fund generated from activities and adverts helps sustain OO’s operational cost and fund community projects in the Malaysian countryside.
Voluntary simplicity is living a life that is outwardly simple but inwardly rich. With less consumerism lifestyle, our ecological resource suffers less impact.
